Terms of Use

1. About the app

NY CDL Permit Practice (the “App”) is developed and maintained by Potential Development Association (PDA), a nonprofit educational organization. CDL training materials are provided in partnership with J&S Reliance Driving School.

The App is an independent study aid for Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) permit preparation. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a substitute for the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, or any other government agency.

2. Educational disclaimer

Questions, explanations, and references are provided for study and self-assessment. They may not reflect every current rule or the exact wording of an official examination. We do not guarantee a passing score, eligibility for a license, or any licensing outcome. Users should also review current official state and federal materials.

3. Accounts and acceptable use

Android users may sign in with Google; supported sign-in methods may differ by platform. You are responsible for activity associated with your account.

You may use the App and its content only for personal, noncommercial study. Scraping, bulk extraction, republication, resale, circumvention of access controls, or unauthorized distribution is prohibited. The App may use technical measures to deter screenshots, copying, and misuse. Access may be limited or suspended when we reasonably detect abuse, fraud, or a violation of these Terms. Contact support if you believe a restriction was applied incorrectly.

4. Free access, subscriptions, and invitation codes

The App may provide a limited amount of free practice content. Additional access may be available through a subscription or an authorized invitation code. Current price, billing period, renewal terms, and trial details—if any—are shown in Google Play or the App Store before purchase.

Subscriptions are processed by the applicable store and may renew automatically until canceled through that store. Cancellation and refund eligibility are governed by the store’s policies and applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived.

5. Intellectual property

The App’s design, branding, instructional structure, and original content are owned by PDA or used with permission. Contributed CDL curriculum remains the academic property of J&S Reliance Driving School. Government publications and other third-party materials remain subject to their respective rights and terms.

6. Privacy

Our handling of account, practice, purchase, and analytics data is described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Changes and availability

We may update the App, its features, prices, or these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date or other notice where required. We may discontinue features or the App, subject to applicable law and store obligations.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, PDA and J&S Reliance Driving School are not liable for exam results, licensing decisions, reliance on study content, service interruptions, or indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the App.
